SoftPLC is the only PC-Based Control System with Bumpless Transfer,
Hot Backup Capability
January 2002: Only
after extensive testing, and successful implementation at a number of customer sites, is SoftPLC
announcing the availability of the Hot Standby CPU capability for their SoftPLC In Tealware system.
With this system, a main CPU continuously transfers data table values to the backup standby CPU. The two CPU's are connected via a cable between Hot Standby modules which monitor the "health" of each CPU and assist with the data table value transfers. In the event of a main CPU failure, the backup will immediately begin processing with valid data.
This system operates in conjunction with SoftPIPE™, the remote I/O network for SoftPLC In Tealware. SoftPIPE is a 2.5MB network that can be extended up to 20,000 feet from the CPU. SoftPLC supports up to 64 racks of I/O, which can be divided into 16 remote drop stations along the SoftPIPE network.
